Distinguished
College Senior Scholar
Nicholas Burbules, professor of educational policy studies, received
the Distinguished College Senior Scholar award, established to recognize
the quality, influence and significance of the scholarship and productivity
of faculty members who are more than 12 years past a terminal degree.

Sarah McCarthey, professor of curriculum and instruction, was honored
with the colleges Distinguished Scholar Award, which recognizes
the quality, influence and significance of the scholarship and productivity
of a faculty member who is within the first 12 years of teaching after
finishing a terminal degree.
Distinguished
Teaching Career Award
Kenneth Travers, professor of curriculum and instruction, was recognized
for sustained commitment to excellence in teaching, course development
and program building at both graduate and undergraduate levels during
his career.
Outstanding Undergraduate Teaching Award for Faculty
Janis Chadsey, professor of special education, was recognized for sustained
commitment to and excellence in teaching, course development and program
building at the undergraduate level.
Academic Professional Excellence Award
Dianne Rothenberg, co-director of the ERIC Clearinghouse, was honored
for her outstanding work and personal and professional contributions
to the college.
Outstanding Graduate Teaching Award for Faculty
Scott Johnson, professor of human resource education, was honored for
sustained commitment to and excellence in graduate teaching, course
development and program building.
Distinguished Staff Award
Cheryl Carlson, admissions and records officer in the Office of Instructional
Programs, was honored with the Distinguished Staff Award. This award
recognizes demonstrated excellence of top-performing civil service staff
members and their contributions to the college throughout the year.
