Biennial women's conference announces theme, speakers
"Women in Progress" is the theme of the 2004 Biennial Conference for Women scheduled for April 8-9 on the UI campus.

The theme "Women in Progress" acknowledges that while lives may be a "work in progress," women must take charge of their dreams, goals and futures. The conference's mission is to bring together a diverse group of women, focus on vitally important issues and interests, and create a forum to learn, communicate, interact and grow.

Confirmed speakers for the 2004 conference include: alumna Suze Orman, financial planner, best-selling author, and host of CNBC's "The Suze Orman Show"; Star Jones, co-host of "The View" and former prosecuter and network legal correspondent; David Baldacci, best-selling author of "Absolute Power" and "Wish You Well."

One-day registration ranges from $155-$215. Online registration or more details about the conference are available online, The Web site also provides several new features including an interactive "Experience the Conference" video, news updates, and success stories in a "Real Women/Real Progress" section.
