Oct. 22 through Jan. 2: “Before Recognition: Experiments in Art
and Science at the Threshold of Perception.”
The interactive exhibition explores the connections between art and
science through multimedia installations by artist Pamela Davis Kivelson,
director of the Perceptual Sciences Art and Technology Program at Stanford
University and artist in residence at the Stanford Humanities Lab.
According to exhibition curator Michael Conner, Kivelson’s installations
– paintings, sculptures and machines designed to probe the humanistic
experience of technology – seek to reveal relationships among
knowledge, experience and perception.
