Ruth H. Bernett, 94, died Oct. 10 at the Gibson Area Hospital, Gibson City. She worked in admissions and records for 24 years, retiring in 1984 as chief clerk. Memorials: Immanuel Lutheran Church of Osman, 942 Grape Ave., Fisher, IL, 61843.
Duane H. Dobbs, 81, died Sept. 19 in Scottsdale, Ariz. He worked at the UI for 26 years, retiring in 1991 as a data processing controller for Administrative Information Technology Services.
Leo Victor Grucza, 75, died Oct. 10 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana. He was a professor in the School of Art and Design at the UI for 36 years, retiring in 1998. He also was appointed an associate in the Center for Advanced Studies for 1984-85. Memorials: American Cancer Society, 3 Henson Place, Champaign, IL 61820.
Ralph L. Miller, 81, died Sept. 29 at the Piatt County Nursing Home, Monticello. He worked at the UI for 23 years, retiring in 1989 as an administrative clerk for the accounting division. Betty Sue Riggins, 81, died Oct. 9 at her home in Champaign. She taught at the UI. Memorials: American Cancer Society, 3 Henson Place, Champaign, IL 61820.
Robert W. “Bill” Rinne, 78, died Oct. 14. He was a professor of plant pathology at the UI for 25 years, retirinng in 1991. Memorials: Champaign County Humane Society, 1911 E. Main St., Urbana, IL 61802.
