Elizabeth D. Barnes, 87, died Aug. 22 in Rogers, Ark. Barnes was retired from the UI Library. Memorials: Sharing and Caring of Benton County, P.O. Box 2668, Bentonville, AR 72712.
Margaret Rose “Peggy” Miner, 80, died Aug. 23 at Provena Covenant Medical Center, Urbana. Miner was a telephone operator at the UI. Memorials: Champaign County Humane Society, 1911 E. Main St., Urbana, IL 61802-2857.
Margy Ellen McKeon, 81, died Aug. 14 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana. McKeon retired from the UI as a supervisor in the Purchasing Division after 28 years.
Lawrence W. Menges, 91, died Aug. 28 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana. Menges retired in 1976 after serving as a UI police officer for 30 years. Memorials: Shriners Hospital for Children, www.shrinershospitalsforchildren.org.
Lola Genevieve Myers, 92, died Aug. 18 at Heartland Healthcare Center, Paxton. Myers was a registered nurse at the UI.
Artice Theresa Sibley, 78, died Aug. 24 at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana. She was a cook at the UI for 11 years.
Jerry Walker, 81, died Aug. 16 at his home in Champaign. Walker started his career at the UI in 1962 as an assistant professor in the College of Education. He retired 34 years later as professor emeritus in 1996. Memorials: Disabled Veterans National Foundation, the United Way of Champaign County or Provena Life Connections hospice.
Memorial service
A memorial service for Anita Feller will be at 1 p.m. Sept. 9 on the third floor of the Levis Faculty Center. Feller, who had been a lecturer in the department of accountancy since 1990, died July 31.
