Cheryl Cole, assistant professor of kinesiology. "Cheryl has already made
a reputation for herself as a strong voice in the cultural study of
kinesiology. Research: historical and cultural production of multiple
bodies (gendered, racial, illicit/licit, prosthetic, etc.) in sport and
their relationship to broader technologies and social issues. For example,
she has investigated the issue of why women's bodies were made
controversial in sport by examining the debates over women's reproduction,
including reproduction technologies, and gender verification tests,
including sex-test technologies, to "normalize" the feminine body in
sport. Teaching: sociology of sport and developing a new course, Culture
