Xiao-Lin Zhou, assistant professor of nuclear engineering. "Xiao-Lin
brings a breadth of expertise in data-inversion methods for neutron
in a variety of materials - from metals to polymers to a variety of
biological substances," said Barclay G. Jones, head of the department of
nuclear engineering. "His computational studies of neutron tomography and
neutron capture therapy are at the forefront of these exciting diagnostic
and therapeutic procedures. With the availability of neutrons from the
TRIGA nuclear reactor in the department, he is in a good position to
introduce and to expand the use of neutrons into these areas of research."
Research: physical, medical and biological applications of radiation and
isotopes. Education: BS (physics), Southwest Normal University; MS
(electrical engineering), Northwest Institute of Telecommunications
Engineering/China Research Institute of Radiowave Propagation; PhD
(nuclear engineering), Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
