Selection committees will meet Feb. 18 and 19 in Urbana and Chicago to interview potential candidates for election to the UI Board of Trustees. Three positions on the nine-member board are to be filled in the November general elections. Trustees serve six-year terms. Membership on the board is not limited to persons holding UI degrees. Candidates chosen by the UI Alumni Association committees that represent the two major political parties will be recommended for slating on the November ballot by their political party conventions. Those wishing to be considered for candidacy on the UI Board of Trustees may apply for an interview by one of the two selection committees by submitting their name, address and biographical information to Louis D. Liay, executive director of the UI Alumni Association, 227 Illini Union. Former U.S. Sen. Alan Dixon, Belleville, is chairman of the Democratic selection committee. Loleta Didrickson, Chicago, a former state representative who recently resigned as director of the Illinois Department of Employment Security, is the Republican committee chair. Also on the Democratic selection committee are Jacqueline Atkins, Chicago; Fred P. Benjamin, Glencoe; Diane T. Callin, Elmhurst; Bill Howard, Mount Vernon, a former trustee; Frank Mynard, Evanston; Earl Neal, Chicago, a former trustee; Richard Thies, Urbana; and Craig Virgin, Lebanon. Other members of the Republican selection committee are David E. Brown, Wilmette; Ron Hamelberg, Barrington; David Hirsch, Barrington Hills; John G.
