Brief: Music makers, dancers to be featured on Channel 12

WILL-Channel 12 turns its camera on the UI in two upcoming broadcasts.

UI dancers will be showcased on Saturday's "New Expressions," the weekly
performing arts program.

The program, airing at 7 p.m., will include dances choreographed by dance
professor Renee Wadleigh and professor emerita Beverly Blossom.

Wadleigh's "Their Shadow on the Earth" premiered at the Illinois Dance
Theater's "Celebration 25." Two excerpts from the Krannert Silver Jubilee
performance are included in the program: Blossom's "Dad's Ties" and Martha
Graham's masterpiece, "Panorama."

The next episode of "Prairie Fire," Channel 12's cultural magazine series,
will feature a musical noon-hour campus tradition.

UI chimemaster Albert Marien and his assistants will talk and perform at 8
p.m. Aug. 11.
