Brief: Award nominations due Nov. 18
Nominations are sought for the Chancellor's Academic Professional
Excellence Award, which recognizes demonstrated excellence by academic
professional staff members at the UI.
A maximum of three academic professionals may receive the CAPE Award
annually. Winners receive $2,000 in cash and a $1,000 permanent salary
increase. In addition, $1,000 will be added on a onetime basis to each
winner's departmental budget for the following fiscal year to be used at
the discretion of the award winner for the purchase of equipment, materials
or training that will benefit the winner's workplace in future years.
Any staff member or student of the UI may nominate. Teaching and research
associates and lecturers are considered faculty members and, therefore, are
not eligible for this award. All renominations require submission of a new
narrative as well as a new nominating form.
The deadline for nominations is 5 p.m. Nov. 18. The CAPE awards will be
presented in March.
To receive a copy of the nominating form and the procedures and criteria
for nomination, call the Office of Academic Human Resources at 333-6747.
