Brief: Grants available for aging-related study

The Office of Gerontology and Aging Studies invites
proposals from the UI community to support aging-related
research projects. Proposals can be from any unit and
discipline as long as the focus is on gerontology and aging
studies.

Grants of up to $500 are available beginning May 8.
Applicants should send a two-page description of their
project, including project aims, related literature, type of
methodology, overall relevance and dissemination plans.

The grants may be used as seed money to develop more in-
depth proposals or to carry out or complete projects. They
may not be used to defray costs of travel to conferences for
faculty, to defray faculty salary or stipends, or to
purchase research-related equipment.

The projects must be completed in one year while in
residence at the UI. All campus faculty and students are
eligible; however, student applicants are required to
identify a faculty sponsor. A one-page vita should be
included by the applicant or sponsoring faculty.

Applications should be sent to Emily Stern, Office of
Gerontology and Aging Studies, 150 Children's Research
Center, MC-672.
