Brief: George Will to speak March 27 at UI

Pulitizer Prize-winning syndicated columnist George F. Will
will speak at the UI on March 27.

The lecture, sponsored by the Illini Union, will begin at
7:30 p.m. in Foellinger Auditorium. Will, a native of
Champaign, also will appear in the second floor Authors
Corner of the Illini Union Bookstore from 4 to 5 p.m. March
27 for a book-signing session.

Will's newspaper column, which has been syndicated in the
Washington Post since 1974, appears twice weekly in 480
newspapers in the United States and Europe. In 1976, he
became a regular contributing editor of Newsweek, for which
he provides the back-page essay twice a month.

In addition to being an author and columnist, Will is a
television news analyst for the Capital Cities/ABC News
Television Network Group. In 1981, he became a founding
member of the panel of ABC's "This Week With David
Brinkley."
