Brief: College preview offered to UI parents

A College Preview Program to assist UI faculty and staff
parents of current high school freshmen, sophomores and
juniors will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. May 11 in the
Reading Room of the Levis Faculty Center. The staff of the
Office of Admissions and Records will host.

The program will offer guidance in developing a plan to
gather information in an organized manner and to approach
the college-selection process in a way that allows families
to make an informed decision. Information will not be
specific to the UI.

Topics to be covered:

  * How to select an institution that is the best fit for the
    individual student.
  * How families can prepare for the college experience.
  * What parents need to know about financial aid.
  * What other parents who have survived this process have to say.

Reservations are requested and may be made by calling the
Campus Visitors Center at 333-0824.
