Brief: April 27 designated 'Family Day'

For the third year, the Ms. Foundation for Women has asked
employers across the country to designate April 27 as "Take
Our Daughters to Work Day," a special day for daughters of
working women to take part in the challenges and
opportunities their mothers experience in the workplace.

The UI has chosen to expand on the foundation's concept by
encouraging departments to consider a "Family Day" on April
27. On this day, employees' children will be invited to
visit the campus and to learn firsthand about the teaching,
research and public service missions of the university and
the value of the support their parents provide to our
institution.

Departments are encouraged to participate. If you have
general questions or are interested in sharing your ideas
with units that want to participate but do not have a formal
agenda for that day, contact Kerrin Thompson, Personnel
