Brief: Student award winners to be honored
International Programs and Studies and the Midwest Universities Consortium
for International Activities will honor student recipients of international
awards for 1995-1996 on April 28 at the International Studies Building.
This year, more than 150 graduate and undergraduate students received
fellowships and grants to pursue international study and research in the
upcoming year. Included among the award winners are the 1995-1996
Churchill, Foreign Language and Area Studies, Fulbright, International
Research and Exchanges Board, Nelle M. Signor, Graduate College
International Dissertation, Chancellor's Scholars' Travel, Luce, Marshall,
and Social Science Research Council scholars.
The IPS/MUCIA reception is meant to "recognize the accomplishments of a
small number of these students" as well as "to make a broader group of
students at UIUC aware of these important fellowship opportunities,"
according to Roger E. Kanet, director of International Programs and
Studies.
Further information is available from Devora Grynspan, director of
development at International Programs and Studies, 244-0246.
