Brief: New CES gardening book available

Gardeners can dig into a new publication, "Vegetable Gardening in the
Midwest," now available from the Cooperative Extension Service.

A complete and easy-to-use guide to successful growing of more than 40
vegetables and 35 herbs draws on years of research on growing conditions
and vegetable varieties conducted at the many trial gardens at the UI. For
each vegetable, authors Charles E. Voigt, vegetable specialist for the
Cooperative Extension Service, and J.S. Vandemark, professor emeritus of
horticulture, furnish details about varieties, planting, care and
harvesting.

The guide is available at a special introductory price of $10 (through Oct.
1) from the UI, 69NR Mumford Hall; 333-2007; or from your local Cooperative
Extension Service office.
