Breif: Teleconference looks at multimedia use

A live satellite teleconference, "Multimedia Fair Use Guidelines: The
Educational Gateway to the Information Age," will be offered on campus
Sept. 21.

It will be held from noon to 2 p.m. in the Beckman Institute auditorium.

The program is designed for anyone who uses or plans to use multimedia in
an instructional capacity, including faculty members, library staff
members, media specialists, legal staff members and administrators.

Topics to be covered:

  * The educational fair use guidelines for multimedia now being developed.
  * What the guidelines will say about multimedia fair use in various
    learning environments.
  * What will constitute fair use for materials made available on the
    Internet.

Registration is due by Sept. 14. The fee is $29.
