Brief: Soprano opens Second Sunday series

UI voice professor Ollie Watts Davis will open the 1995-96 Second Sunday
Concert series with a recital at 2 p.m. Sept. 10.

Soprano Davis will perform music by Mozart, Franz Schubert and Claude
Debussy, as well as a cantata by John Carter. The free concert at the
Krannert Art Museum and Kinkead Pavilion will be performed as a tribute to
composer William Grant Still in the centennial year of his birth.

Pianist Kathy Kozak and clarinetist David Harris will accompany Davis. The
concert will be broadcast live on the sponsoring station, WILL-FM (90.9),
with hosts John Frayne and Roger Cooper.
