Brief: CBS correspondent to speak Nov. 9

CBS News correspondent who covered the O.J. Simpson trial will speak on
campus Nov. 9.

Sandra Hughes, a UI graduate in broadcast journalism, will speak at noon in
213 Gregory Hall.

Since joining CBS in 1993, the Los Angeles-based Hughes also has covered
the Mendendez brothers trials, the Rodney King trial, and the California
earthquakes.

Hughes has been asked to speak about the Simpson trial, according to Mitch
Kazel, teaching associate in broadcast journalism.

Hughes previously worked in St. Louis; Louisville, Ky.; and Richmond, Va.
