Marjorie Beasley Marjorie Beasley, retired administrative aide in the English department, died Nov. 5 at her home in Urbana. She was 70. Beasley retired in 1984 after working at the UI for 27 years. She was a past secretary for the State Universities Civil Service Advisory Committee, a past president of the Secretariat and the Business and Professional Women's Club, and a member of the Classified Employees Association. Survivors include her husband, Donald; two sons; three daughters; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Maria Pia Gratton Maria Pia Gratton, reseach programmer for the School of Chemical Sciences, died Oct. 31 on campus. She was 47. Survivors include her husband, Enrico, professor of physics; two sons; a daughter; and a brother.
