Brief: UI 'Family Day' is April 25

For the fourth year, employers across the country are designating April 25
as "Take Our Daughters to Work Day," a special day for daughters of working
women to take part in the challenges and opportunities their mothers
experience in the workplace.

The UI has chosen to expand on this concept by encouraging departments to
consider April 25 a "Family Day." On this day, employees' children are
invited to visit the campus and learn firsthand about the teaching,
research and public service missions of the university and the value of the
support their parents provide.

Departments are encouraged to participate. The Society of Women Engineers
and the College of Engineering plan to use the day to educate young women
about jobs and science-based careers available at theUI.
