The UI College of Veterinary Medicine hosts its annual open house from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 13. The free event offers the public the chance to tour the only veterinary school in Illinois and to learn about animal health care. The open house is especially helpful to students considering a career in veterinary medicine since the various exhibits show the many options available. As in the past, popular exhibits such as the cow with the "window" in its side, mock surgery demonstrations, and exotic animal care demonstrations will be available for viewing. Other planned activities include pathology demonstrations, a petting zoo, displays of commonly used veterinary equipment, a career booth and more.
