Get your new 'i-card'

All students, faculty and staff members are required to get the new 'i-card.' As of Sept. 16 all other university IDs will be invalid.

The i-card will be the new official university ID card for all faculty and staff members and students, allowing access to university facilities and services. If you choose, the i-card can also serve as a First of America credit and/or debit card and an MCI telephone card. If you select the credit or debit capability, you will need to complete an application. You may use the credit/debit functions at many campus and local businesses that accept the i-card. In addition, the card will continue to have a fourth capability that allows you to make small purchases by adding a dollar value to the vending or stored value stripe on the card. As always, you can use your i-card stored value function on copiers and laser printers throughout campus (including the library). In the future, additional vending machines will accept the i-card vending stripe.

If you have stored value on your current ID card, you will only be able to transfer that value to your new card at the times below. Once you have exchanged your old ID for your new i-card, you will not be able to transfer stored value. As of June 30, you will no longer be able to use your university ID as a charge card and then receive a statement from the UI Business Office.

To get your new i-card, faculty and staff members should bring their current university ID card (to exchange for their new i-card) and preferably another form of identification, such as a driver's license, to the first floor of the Illini Union Bookstore only during the following times: June 24 through 28, from 9 a m. to noon; or July 1 through 3, from 9 a m. to noon.

To get your i-card if you do not currently have a university photo ID card, go to the ID Card Center in the Illini Union Bookstore weekdays, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
