Free flu shots available

Any faculty or staff member who is eligible for the UI employee health plans can receive a free flu shot between 9 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. each of the following days: Oct. 4 and 30 (407 Levis Faculty Center); and Nov. 13 (third floor, Levis Faculty Center). A current faculty/staff identification card (i-card) or health insurance identification card is required.

The number of nurses administering the immunizations will be increased this year so waiting times should be minimal.

Graduate or undergraduate students (who may receive free flu shots at McKinley Health Center during regular walk-in hours) or extra-help civil-service employees are not eligible for this program. Employees who do not have a current i-card should go to the Campus I.D. Center, located on the second floor of the Illini Union Bookstore, weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

This is a one-hour approved event for civil service employees. Employees may be released from work with pay, operations permitting and with departmental approval, to receive a flu shot.
